Phagwa

Three Men in a Tub

Steel pianist compete over week-long festivities (May).

National Drama Festival

Festival of folk art (May/June).

Eid-ul-Fitr

Muslim New Year, occuring around June, is celebrated with day of feasting.

Tobago Heritage Festival

Villages on the island featuring their own activity, such as traditional weddings, goat races or games (July).

Hosay

Originally a Muslim mourning ritual for the martyred grandsons of the prophet Mohammed.

Emancipation Day

Replaces Columbus Discovery Day, celebrating the abolition of slavery.

Santa Rosa Festival

Celebrates the cross-cultural relationship between the Amerindians and the Roman Catholic Church.

Independence Day

Celebrating anniversary of Trinidad & Tobago's independence from Great Britain.

Republic Day

Parade and festivities celebrating the anniversary of Trinidad & Tobago's declaration of republic status.

Pan Beautiful

Over two weekends, steel pianists compete in classics and calypso at National Stadium.

Parang Festival

Spanish Christmas songs are the focal point at activities.

Divali

Also called festivals of lights, it's a national Hindu holiday to honor Lakshmi, goddesd of light, beauty, riches and love.

Pan Jazz Festival

Jazz and steel pan music are featured seperately and fused together.

Trinidad and Tobago Culture Fest

Villages of the two islands compete in music, dance, food and crafts.
