One of the joys of vacationing in St. Marteen is that it is duty-free! Great values can be had because prices are among the lowest in the region. Certainly much less than prices you would pay in the U.S. and Canada.
The Best places to shop on the Dutch side are Philipsburg's Frontstreet and Old Street, Simpson Bay, Mullet Bay and Maho Reef. Duty-free shopping also is available on the French side. Wherever you go you'll find clothing, leather goods, jewelry, gold, watches, perfumes, cosmetics, china and crystal from around the world. All famous brand names are well represented. Also, there are objects d'art which also reflect our cosmopolitan environment, together with artifacts from other islands throughout the Caribbean.
