Epiphany


Celebrations feature dancing, dining and the ancient French custom of serving cake known as "galette des rois". (Jan.)

Carnival

On the French side a party that lasts till Ash Wednesday. Includes the election of the Carnival Queen. (Feb.)

St. Maarten/Heineken Regatta

March 3-5

Carnival

April 17 - May 3 in Dutch St. Marteen. Celebration include the election of the Calypso King and the Carnival Queen, parades, and lots of music and merriment.

Bastille Day

French national holiday includes parades, sporting contests and fireworks. (July)

St. Marteen's Day

Dutch and Fench dignitaries gather at the border to commemorated the 1648 agreement which devided the island between Holland and France. Island celebrations include parades.
