Sightseeing
In The Dominican Republic you can get lost only in the beauty of the moment. Some beautiful sites that you should visit are:
|
Samana |
This historic town contains descendants of North American slaves who fled here before the US Civil War, having bought or taken, sometimes by force, their freedom.
|
Los Haitises National Park |
There you will find an archipelago of hundreds of dome shaped islands, many of them hollow limestone shells up to the size of a cathedral.
|
Cayo Leventado |
The name can be trnslated as "Floating Island." Sitting regally in almost translucent aquamarine water off Samana, it does seem to float in the air.
|
Altos de Chavon |
Step back in time, into a medieval village perched on a cliff hundreds of feet above a tropical river.
