Documents You'll Need
Visitors to Aruba do need proof of identity. Residents of the United States and Canada may submit either:
- VALID PASSPORT
- BIRTH CERTIFICATE
- NATURALIZATION CERTIFICATE
- ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD
- REENTRY PERMIT
Please Note: A U.S. REGISTRATION CARD IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE AS A PRIMARY DOCUMENT FOR PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.
Customs Made Easy
Each visitor may bring into Aruba - DUTY FREE:
- Personal belongings
- Foreign-made items bearing serial numbers. Such as:
- Cameras
- Watches
- Tape recorders
- $600 exemption. Which may include:
- 100 cigars and 200 cigarettes
- If you are 21 and over, 1 liter (33.8 fl. oz.) alcoholic beverages.
Taxes and Gratuities
There is a 5% Government room tax.
What to Wear
For the most part, casual informal summer clothes are the rule in Aruba. Women may wish to take along a headscarf od hat. While the constant trade wind is refreshing, it is not compatible with a fancy hairdo.
Dress-up clothes are advisable for a night outin one of the elegant restaurants, night clubs or casinos.
